Expect the Unexpected is part memoir, part spiritual exploration, and part collection of inspiring stories. My hope in writing it was to offer guidance and support for those seeking to connect with spiritual realms that we don’t fully understand.

My childhood was anything but ordinary. With drug-addicted parents, experiences of kidnapping, and periods of homelessness, I grew up in the midst of chaos. At fourteen, I watched my mother pass away—and only two days later, she appeared to me, letting me know she was still alive in spirit. From that moment, the spirit world began reaching out to me. I tried to ignore it, wanting nothing more than to live a “normal” life.

But as I pursued my passion for singing at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, my psychic gift grew louder. Eventually, I began offering readings. Witnessing the comfort and healing that messages from spirit brought to others helped me embrace and honor the gift I had resisted for so long.

In this book, I share my personal journey along with testimonies from those whose lives have been touched through my work. I also offer insight and simple practices to help you ask for and recognize signs from your loved ones—whether or not you ever sit with a medium. At its heart, Expect the Unexpected is about love, peace, healing, and hope, and how those gifts are always available to us when we open ourselves to spirit.
