Our Pets in Spirit
“The love of a pet doesn’t vanish—it evolves into a presence that still curls up beside your soul.”

The Unbreakable Bond of Unconditional Love
The bonds we share with our animals never end; they simply shift from the physical world into the language of Spirit.
Many of you already know that I’m a dog fanatic — I share my home (and my heart) with three of them. There is something so special and innately spiritual about our pets, and I believe that’s part of what draws us so close to them. We try to capture that specialness in photographs, hoping to share with others just how much they mean to us. But beyond the countless entertaining pet photos online, there is a deep and sacred bond we’re really trying to capture — a relationship that nourishes our souls.
On a soul level, I know these special companions are part of our soul group. They are sent to us divinely, often arriving in perfect timing, to teach us about the power of unconditional love. During readings, I often receive messages from pets in Spirit, eager to connect with their human loved ones and reassure them that they are safe and at peace. It’s a profound validation that they, too, cross into the light — and that their love for us continues on. Our fur babies stay with us in Spirit, always near, keeping us — their treasured companions on Earth — company from the other side.
Today is a special day for me — our dog Teddy is celebrating his 8th birthday! I want to dedicate this message about the love we share with our pets to him. Teddy came into our lives as a 4-month-old puppy. He was Pat’s dog first, and I would meet both Pat and Teddy only two months later.
What’s interesting is that in June of 2014, I had a client come for a reading who happened to be an animal communicator. At the end of our session, she told me that a small brown dog — something like a Chihuahua — would soon be coming into my life. At the time, I wasn’t looking to have a dog and couldn’t imagine how that would happen. What I didn’t know was that Pat, whom I hadn’t even met yet, had just welcomed Teddy into his life that very month. And indeed, Teddy turned out to be a Chihuahua–Dachshund mix — just as Spirit had described, down to the smallest detail.
This is how Spirit works. Just like with our human soul group, the arrival of our animal companions is often planned from the other side. The timing aligns perfectly, even if we can’t see the bigger picture in the moment. This is why I often tell clients to “keep it with you” when a message comes through that hasn’t yet been validated — because Spirit is already weaving things into place.
May Teddy’s story be a reminder to love our pets deeply while they are here, for their role in our lives is truly one of divine intervention. And if you’ve said goodbye to a beloved pet, know that their spirit still walks beside you. Speak to them in times of need. Just like our human loved ones in Spirit, they hear you. Their love surrounds you — a loyal, guiding light on your path, now and always.
