Now Is the Time to Ground

A Meditation for Peace and Presence
In times of uncertainty, peace is found not above us, but within—rooted in the quiet rhythm of the Earth.
For many people, emotions run high during this unprecedented time we’re living in. Anxiety and fear can easily pull us out of our center as we absorb the collective energy of the world. When that happens, we may find it hard to tell where our energy ends and the world’s begins. But within each of us lies the ability to redirect our focus—to step out of the noise and reconnect with the deeper pulse of life itself.
In moments of challenge or uncertainty, we often lose ourselves in the external chaos. The constant flow of information, opinions, and emotion can make it hard to breathe, to simply be. When I start to feel untethered, I remind myself that peace doesn’t come from the outside—it comes from grounding within. I quiet my mind, breathe, and return to the stillness that’s always waiting beneath the surface.
One of my favorite grounding practices is a simple visualization I’d like to share with you. You may want to do this barefoot, in a comfortable space, inside your home or outdoors where you can feel the air and earth around you.
Begin by closing your eyes and taking a deep breath. Picture yourself as a strong and majestic tree—your branches wide and open, your presence radiant and alive. Notice the colors surrounding you: rich greens, cool blues, soft golden light filtering through the canopy. Feel the texture of the bark along your body, the whisper of leaves as they move with the wind.
Now, breathe slowly into the base of your feet. With every breath, imagine your toes transforming into luminous roots of light. These roots travel deep into Mother Earth, down through layers of soil and stone, until they reach the heart of the planet—a radiant core of pink and white light. This light represents unconditional love, stability, and the infinite wisdom of the Earth herself.
Allow your roots to absorb this light. Feel it flowing upward, filling you with peace and strength. The energy rises through your legs, your body, your chest, until it reaches your heart. Let it expand there. Then feel it continue upward through your neck, your head, and out into the vast universe above.
Your breath becomes one with the rhythm of the Earth—steady, ancient, and alive. You are both grounded and infinite, connected to everything yet rooted in the here and now.
As you rest in this energy, ask that any fear, tension, or energy that isn’t yours gently fall away. Feel yourself clear, centered, and protected. You are safe. You are loved. You are grounded in the embrace of the Earth and the light of the cosmos.
Remember, this place within you is always accessible. No matter what’s happening in the world, you can return here—simply by going within.
